Just as an update to this post, please note that buses to Mersing and the Tioman ferries do not connect perse. The reason is that Tioman has been enjoying quite a popularity boom lately, which results in the ferries to Tioman being a bit of a bottle-neck, especially during weekends and public holidays. In other words, the ferries are full before Tioman is.

My advice to those who’ve booked a Tioman resort, or want to go to Tioman during the weekend or a public holiday: book your ferry tickets as far in advance as possible, so you won’t be stranded at the departure jetty due to the ferry for that day being already full.

Since we go to Tioman quite regularly, we’re seeing more and more travellers, especially from overseas, arrive at the Mersing jetty too late to catch their ferry, because it’s full.

I am now watching TV2, rancangan masak-2 bersama chef wan (my fav chef) @ Pura Tanjung Sabtu. A very nice place but not so sure how much it cost for 1 night stay. Foreigners should visit this place and owner kena advertise lebih sikit…..

I will update Greenselipar’s page about Ulu Geroh : Ahha the Semai’s chairman, passed away about one month ago.

If you wish to spot a rafflesia, maybe the easiest way is to contact David Foon (cc) at Gopeng Rainforest Resort , either by email or via his mobile: check out their website http://www.gopengrainforest.com/
David is very close to the Semai and used to work with Ahha. He should be able to organize a Rafflesia trail with the Semai guides.
Ahha was the very enthusiastic and energetic leader of the Semai and his sudden death, apart from being very sad is a big loss for the orang asli community.
By going there and promoting their project you will contribute to its durability.

I had some information from friends that the Raja Brooks habitat have been destroyed recently. I need to confirm this information. Any feedback will be wellcome.
