AirAsia X is re-aligning its network and will be withdrawing services to India (Mumbai and New Delhi) and Europe (Paris and London).
That means for Europe :
• London- Six weekly services will be suspended with the last flight on 31 March, 2012
• Paris- Four weekly services will be suspended with the last flight on 30 March, 2012

The bead culture of Sarawak, part of a greater Malaysian heritage, is rooted in centuries of tradition. An ancient maritime trading network linked Sarawak to the world. The beads most treasured today came from production centres on the Malay Peninsula, from India, China and even further afield. In the hands of Sarawak‘s craftswomen and collectors, these masterpieces of the glassmaker‘s art became intrinsically “Borneo Beads”.
The second edition of International Beads Conference (BIBCo) will be held in Kuching, on the 7-9 October 2011, with conferences, Beads exhibitions and sales and workshops. This international event is organized by Crafthub Sdn.Bhd.
Crafthub is a non-profit organisation which aims to promote and sell Sarawak handicrafts in an economically viable way, with international standard quality control. Crafthub was set up in 2008 by a small group of people who understand the various crafts of Sarawak and who are passionate about bringing Sarawak craftwork to that wider world. It promotes handicrafts as a worthwhile occupation that provides a viable living for local craftspeople, and endeavours to encourage the younger generation into craft-oriented careers before many skills inherent in Sarawak’s craft heritage are lost.
Special pre– and post– conference tours to the Bario Highlands will be organized for BIBCo participants.

I stay at Muntri Mews hotel for this coming night
After a 30 mn never ending trip in a lift (stopped between the 22th and the 21th floors of my hotel in KL), a 4h bus trip from KL to Penang (Nice Bus, 74 RM), + a 20mn taxi ride (30RM, mahal lah!) from the Nice bus stop to the 77 Muntri street in George Town, I reached Muntri Mews.
Friendly welcome by the Muntri Mews staff, with a glass of fresh water and a pot of hot chinese tea. Lovely and spacious room with a fusion retro-stylish decoration.
Then I learned 2 new words : Mew and Flashpacker.
What’s a flashpacker?
Here is the answer of the “chic hotel” Ryokan opposite Muntri Mews
” If you travel with your iPod, digital camera and laptop, you have officially placed yourself in the category of what we call flashpackers. If you are traveling on a budget, but you are looking for something a bit more upmarket and luxurious and as affordable as a hostel, you’re also a flashpacker.”
Both Ryokan and Muntri Mews target the flaspackers, but in different budget categories.
What are mews?
It was a place where you store the horse carriages.
“Muntri Mews” was formerly the stables and carriageworks of the street’s grandest terraces. Carriages were kept below while drivers and staff were housed above in 12 worker’s quarters. Read the rest of this entry »
