David owner of the Gopeng Rainforest Resort organizes a Trans Cameron trek this coming April 11th – 12th .
It is a unique opportunity to discover the Cameron forest with the orang asli. If you are interested please contact David Foon.

Not available for this treck, nobody to take care of your children during this week-end, too lazy… take an other chance and spend a week-end at the Gopeng Rainforest Resort and go for a Rafflesia trail with the Semai of Ulu geroh.

About the treck
Trans Cameron trek is a 2 days trek through the vast Kinta jungles bordering Perak and Cameron Highlands.
You will do river crossings, passing through orang asli settlements, sleeping in the “last of the interior semai trible” settlement, lush green rainforest, giant trees , giant bamboos,etc.
- Day 0 : 10th April (Friday night ) – stay at Gopeng Rainforest Resort.
- Day 1 : 11th April 7.15am – journey begins , takes approximately 8-10 hours trek.
- Day 2 : 8am – leave for CH and exit at Bharat Tea (4 km from Tanah Rata.)
Estimated time to arrive at starting point at Gopeng Rainforest Resort ( 4pm -6pm)
Cost = RM138 ++ ( for group of 15pax above , includes 1 night (day 0) stay at Gopeng Rainforest Resort, guides ,car park, organizing fees,etc). (exclude food. Bring own meal and cooking apparatus.)
If less than 15pax, then extra cost will be incurred.
Additional/Optional cost :
- lodging at Orang asli house in day 1 = RM15/pax.
- Transport back from CH to GRR = about RM300 /van to be shared equally.
- breakfast on day 1 = can order from resort or own cooking.

We made it ! 10 people from 20 to 50 (?).
Was great but quite challenging : lot of rain, rivers crossing and 1000++ leeches.
The Kinta forest is so beautiful. If you want to join the next one (maybe in June), please contact David Foon.
